Human Hair Extensions v Synthetic Extensions
If properly applied, all synthetic hair extensions and human hair extensions
can be washed, brushed, straightened, and curled and can be worn 24/7
for months on end, looking as good when they come out as when they went
in, however there are distinct differences between the two types:-
For the most part the advantages of having real hair outweigh those
of having fake hair but there are reasons why either one might be preferable.
The main advantage of real hair is that it is far easier to look after.
There is no need to treat it any differently to your own hair and it
looks and feels so natural that even a trained eye cannot tell you are
wearing them (when they are expertly applied). When left to dry naturally
they dry with the same natural kink/wave that most people's hair dries
with, meaning it blends easily without even the need for styling. Another
major advantage is that there is no restriction with styling. You can
use straightening irons and curling tongs freely which is not the case
with synthetic hair. You also have the option of dying the real hair
which is not possible with fake hair. For these reasons the celebrities
usually opt for the real hair.
People who want long hair on a budget should opt for fake hair. Some
of the other advantages are that fake hair does hold a style incredibly
well, for example, if you curl it with heated rollers the curl can last
days instead of hours as it would with real hair, and if you want to
wear it poker straight and have it stay that way, even in the rain,
fake hair is possibly a better option. Another advantage is that you
get more volume per connection than with real hair, which is useful
when having extensions applied for thickness.
Hopefully understanding the pro's and cons of each type will help you
make an informed decision about which option is best for you.
